I would respectfully ask you to please consider that last sentence deeply – it woefully demonstrates the very need for our quality academic intervention and program in general.

Before you consider the unfortunate academic statistics below, quality-of-life statistics further illustrate the thorny issues and social quicksand our kids must navigate every day.

The Green-Meadows/Watts neighborhoods in which our kids live and Strive operates consistently rank in the top ten for most violent crimes out of 272 neighborhoods (FOXLA).

Academic Realities in Our Community

May I ask you to consider the unhealthy link connecting the following two stats, before absorbing the remaining statistics?

(1) A long-term study by the Annie E. Casey Foundation found that Students who were behind in reading in 4th grade were four times more likely to drop out of high school than proficient readers.

(2) 79% of students at Locke high school (nearest Strive) barely met standards, with 53% of that percentage far below standards in English-Language Arts on the 2019 California Standards Tests.
